Out-of-District Information

Scheduling

Registration for groups outside of Frisco starts mid-November each school year. For 2022-23 plan to register for your out-of-district group starting November 15. Be aware that most fall 2022 dates will be filled by Frisco ISD. Please plan to book your winter or spring 2023 dates when open registration begins.

Our registration calendar is set to accommodate Frisco ISD. For anyone scheduling a non-FISD group, look for an available timeslot that reads 'OTHER DISTRICT' and includes your grade level.

Group Size Limits

We do have a group size limit of 50 students; If you have more than 50 students you will need to look for a date that has both 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. available to split into two groups or plan to come on two different dates. For those doing 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. - one group can visit a nearby park while the other group is at Safety Town.

Parking

Please share our bus & parking map with your bus driver and parent chaperones attending.

You are bringing your group to a facility that includes a working a fire station. Emergency vehicles may be leaving and returning at any time. We ask that you adhere to our parking lot guidelines to avoid interfering with an emergency response vehicle.

ALL bus and vehicle traffic should enter the Safety Town parking lot from the far west entrance, off of Main Street.  All vehicle traffic may also exit the parking lot from this same location. Buses will enter here and proceed to the covered drive to drop off on the east side of our building. Buses will then proceed through our back parking lot at Central Fire to exit onto Tomlin Drive. Due to staff parking at our satellite facility on Tomlin, we do not have available bus parking on site. We ask that you find a nearby parking lot for a legal spot to wait.

Program Times

Our morning classes start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 11 a.m.

Our instructors take lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Our afternoon classes start at 12 p.m. and end at 1:30 p.m.

Please plan accordingly to insure you arrive no more than five minutes before your scheduled program time.

Parent Chaperones

Parents are invited to attend all of our study trip programs.

We encourage parents to attend with Kindergarten and First grade groups and recommend that you have at least a 1:4 ratio - chaperone to student. Parents are essential to assisting with jeep ride time. Please visit our Ride Time Guidelines page to learn more about jeep and bike rides.

Please provide your parents our website and ask them to review the pre-visit information on our parent chaperone page as well as the parking page.
