Our Vision
The vision of Frisco Fire Safety Town began in 1993 when previous Fire Chief Mack Borchardt was approached by firefighters who wanted to purchase a portable fire safety house they could take to schools in Frisco to teach children about fire safety. Chief Borchardt thought a more permanent display with hands-on activities would be a better way to share fire safety lessons with children.
In 2002, the new Central Fire Station and Frisco Fire Safety Town project was added to a proposed bond package, which 98% of voters later approved. As plans were being drawn up for Frisco Fire Safety Town, Chief Borchardt began to approach local business owners and developers in the Frisco community with the idea of sponsoring buildings within the outdoor area. This would help to give the town a true 'Frisco' appearance as well as give business owners and developers a new way to promote their enterprises.
